About

Julie Brewer

Julie and her family have called Johnson County home for more than a dozen years. Even before the family officially moved to Kansas, Julie said yes to her first volunteer commitment in Johnson County–co-chairing her youngest daughter’s middle school community service club. She has spent her professional and volunteer time ever since giving back and being a vital part of our community.

Julie and her husband Steve live in Overland Park with their dog Sophie. Their daughters, Delaney and Arden, are graduates of the Blue Valley School District. Their oldest daughter is married, and Julie and Steve are proud grandparents of two grandsons.

She has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Julie has held leadership roles and served on boards, councils, and committees covering a wide range of vital areas that impact the well-being of residents including public safety, education, transportation, digital access, health, and housing. She retired in July of 2023 from leading United Community Services of Johnson County – the local nonprofit focused on education and advocacy, convening, planning, and resource allocation for initiatives that address the well-being of residents in Johnson County.

Julie has been recognized with the Friend of Education Award through the Blue Valley School District, is a Work of Heart Recipient through CASA of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, and was honored for her service on the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment’s Public Health Leadership Council. She is a graduate of Leadership Overland Park and Kansas Leadership Center.
